Black Friday week is the best time of year to snap up some deals, and the same applies with Japanese language resources!

Here are some of the best Black Friday deals I’ve found on my favourite products for learning Japanese:

JapanesePod101

My top recommendation!
JapanesePod101

JapanesePod101 is our top recommendation to learn Japanese online. We love the fun, current audio lessons and interactive online tools. Sign up for your free lifetime account and see for yourself!

  • 55% OFF all Basic, Premium and Premium PLUS plans
  • Sale dates: NOW until Saturday, November 29th
  • Coupon code: BLACKFRIDAY2025

JapanesePod101 is my top recommended resource to learn Japanese online.

They have a GIANT library of Japanese audio and video lessons at every level, accompanied by useful interactive online tools to cement your learning.

They do have regular sales of around 20-30%, but this 55% discount is one of the biggest of the year and it’s only running this week!

With this discount, you can get the Basic plan for as little as $1.80 per month – although I do strongly recommend the Premium plan, which is still only $4.50/month and gives you access to all the extra flashcards and study tools.

FluentU

FluentU

  • LIFETIME discount of 40% off!
  • Sale dates: November
  • No coupon code needed.

I think FluentU is a truly FANTASTIC resource for learning Japanese by watching videos. It’s definitely one of the most fun ways to learn, especially if you’re lazy like me!

This Black Friday’s 40% deal brings it down from $11.99/month to a crazy cheap $7.19.

And what’s more, that price will be locked in for as long as you stay a member!

Lingopie

Lingopie

Learn Japanese watching real TV shows with clickable subtitles for instant translations.

58% off My review
We earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.
  • 58% off a yearly subscription
  • Sale dates: NOW until 4th December
  • No coupon code needed

Lingopie is similar to FluentU.

FluentU has better subtitle options (toggle between full Japanese, kana, romaji and English) and is overall a bit slicker and has more content.

Lingopie has more full shows (not just short videos) and some Netflix integration. It’s also a lot cheaper.

Their official Black Friday deal is 58% off. BUT WAIT! I actually have a better deal that’s live any time… a unique 65% permanent discount just for Team Japanese readers at this link.

Pimsleur

Pimsleur Japanese

Learn spoken Japanese with an effective, structured course of audio lessons.

Pimsleur have not yet announced their Black Friday deal for 2025, but I know there’ll be something good!

If you sign up for the free trial and get on their mailing list now, you’ll be the first to hear about their sale.

Pimsleur are recommended if you want to focus on speaking and listening. They are very effective at teaching conversational Japanese. You will need to supplement with other resources for reading and writing, though.
